These roof prism binoculars are, like all other Kite roof prisms, waterproof and nitrogen gas filled. All models benefit from fully multi-coated optical systems and incorporate phase correction coating, to maximise final image definition. Also remarkable is the close focus, making the 8x32 with its minimum focus of merely 1.6 m very suitable for observing insects and plants. The rubber armouring provides maximum protection and is specially shaped to reduce weight wherever possible, this results in superb handling and perfect balance. In general the Pallas shares many characteristics with the Petrel, but it offers a better light transmission and robustness.
